Bradleys Chartered Surveyors
in Somerset
Welcome to Somerset
Our Somerset office started life in 1992 and was originally based in Prioryfield Road in Taunton. It moved in 2002 to an office in East Street where it is now adjoining Bradleys estate agency offices.
Our surveyor covering Somerset, and based in East Street, is Andrew Turner MRICS, ably assisted by Bryher Shears. When Andrew is away Tom Davies FRICS takes over the reins. A not too arduous task covering areas like the Somerset levels, Quantocks and Blackdowns, and the well-known and stunning hills of the Exmoor National Park.
Somerset is a large area but our surveyors have vast experience and knowledge throughout the county. This includes towns along the north coast such as Minehead, Watchet, Highbridge and Burnham on Sea. Wellington, the County town of Taunton, Bridgwater and North Petherton along the spine of the M5 are also covered. Deep into Somerset around the Somerset levels are the likes of Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet, Somerton and Langport, with Ilminster and Wincanton off the A303 and Chard, Crewkerne and Yeovil along the southern boundary ensuring Andrew has plenty to occupy his working days.
Like many areas, Somerset certainly has its own individual characteristics. The flooding of the Somerset levels has been a newsworthy story on many occasions. The area benefits from different types of local stone used for centuries in the construction of houses. Particularly well known are the lovely blue lias stone, as well as the beautiful golden Ham stone seen in many villages like Martock, the Sub Hamdons and probably best represented in the National Trust village of Montacute.
It is essential in our job to have a good working knowledge of the local area. Andrew is a native being Somerset born and bred and knows most of the ins and outs of the towns and villages in Somerset.
